Department of Anesthesiology | City of Hope National Medical Center in Duarte, CA

City of Hope Medical Group Seeks an Anesthesiologist to Join the Clinical Team

The Department of Anesthesiology at City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking a physician to meet the needs of our growing program on the Duarte campus.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work within a 500+ member integrated, multidisciplinary Medical Group Practice serving an NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center in Southern California, within our established Department of Anesthesiology. City of Hope is expanding both in patient volume and infrastructure, investing in clinical, academic, and research facilities. We are actively recruiting, and interviews will begin immediately.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Join our nationally recognized team of cancer specialists in medical, surgical, and radiation oncology as a full-time clinician in the Department of Anesthesiology.
2. The department currently includes physicians and CRNAs.
3. Effort allocation: 95% clinical, with approximately 50% supervision and 50% independent practice.
4. Opportunities for academic advancement and quality improvement initiatives.
5. Coverage at a single Duarte campus location, including inpatient hospital and outpatient surgery center with 19 sites (ORs, procedure rooms, and NORA).
6. No in-house call, no cardiac, no trauma, no OB, and minimal pediatric cases.

Position Highlights:

• Access to generous benefits including medical, dental, vision, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, malpractice, CME allowance, 20 days paid vacation, 3 personal days, 18 sick days, 7 holidays, and 10 CME days.
• City of Hope contributes up to 20% of your salary to your retirement account annually (not a match), up to $61,000.
• Annual academic improvement fund of up to $5,000.
• Physicians are eligible to apply for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program.
• Total compensation ranges from $440K to $510K, based on academic rank, with additional recruitment incentives.
• Additional hourly pay for hours exceeding the assigned shift, averaging about $5,000 per month.
• Eligible for call pay and additional weekend coverage pay ($20,000 for five weekends per year).
