General Summary

  • The Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and coordinates exercise programs following the standards of the American College of Sports Medicine and the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. They administer medical tests, under supervision, to program participants by applying methods and modalities in an organized and systematic manner according to hospital/department policies. They will assist in leading the activities of the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Program and support the cardiopulmonary leadership team in developing and ensuring the quality of new cardiovascular services and educational events.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Assist with clerical responsibilities such as supply ordering, participant communication, data collection, payroll, etc. Support the Manager in developing quality assurance initiatives within the Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab program. Participate in departmental and hospital-wide committees as needed. Assist in developing and conducting Mock Codes and Competencies as required by AACVPR. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to implement and coordinate educational programs for patient care.
