Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation team is hiring a full-time Clinical Exercise Physiologist. This role is in an outpatient setting, working Monday - Friday with no weekends.

Clinical Exercise Physiologists with Cardio-Pulmonary experience are encouraged to apply, but this is not a requirement for the role. Role focuses on wellness program participation for patients post-rehabilitation, with opportunities to assist in Cardio-Pulmonary rehab as needed and

• Graduate degree required.
• Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Exercise Physiology required.

Responsabilidades

• Primarily work in the wellness program for patients who completed Cardio-Pulmonary rehabilitation.
• May cover in Cardio-Pulmonary rehab as needed.
• Work with patients in groups as they attend the gym during the day.
• Provide supervision for exercises and take vital signs.
• Formulate and modify exercise prescriptions based on medical history and needs.
• Lead group aerobic classes 2-3 per week.

What You'll Do

• primarily work in the wellness program, which is designed for patients who have completed Cardio-Pulmonary rehabilitation and are looking to maintain or increase their fitness level
• may cover in Cardio-Pulmonary rehab as needed
• work with patients in groups as the attend the gym during the day
• provide supervision for exercises and take vital signs
• formulate and modify exercise prescriptions for rehabilitation participants based on medical history and special needs
• lead group aerobic classes 2-3 per week

What We're Looking For

• Education:
  • Graduate Degree, required.
  • Master's degree in Exercise and Sports Science or Exercise Physiology, required.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of one year hospital, clinic, or rehabilitation experience as an Exercise Physiologist, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • ACSM Certification in Clinical Exercise Physiology within 6 months of hire (Certification Agreement signed upon hire), required.
• Additional Skills Required:
  • Practical and theoretical knowledge of all phases of routine and critical cardiac and respiratory care, with an emphasis on adult, chronic disease management.
  • Abilities to perform decisively in critical situations and to incorporate many types of data.
  • Has the knowledge, skills and ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs.
  • Has the ability to supervise exercise, monitor patients during exercise, and modify exercise prescriptions for cardio-pulmonary patients, in conjunction with registered nurses and/or physician as needed.
  • Has effective communication and interpersonal skills to relate to patients, families, nurses, physicians and other department and hospital staff.
  • Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing.
