Job summary

Martha's Vineyard Hospital, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Aide to maintain a clean, sanitary environment that supports high-quality patient care.

You will clean floors, rooms, and common areas, operate floor machines, and assist with linen handling and waste disposal. The role requires adherence to infection prevention protocols, ability to respond to emergencies as part of the Storm/Disaster Team, and capable operation of hospital vehicles as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required; no degree substitution.
• Experience in environmental services or housekeeping preferred; 0-1 year required.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and high-quality customer service.

Responsibilities

• Maintain assigned areas including floors, offices, restrooms, and patient areas.
• Sweep, scrub, and polish floors, use floor machines.
• Clean carpets and disinfect surfaces.
• Move linens and clean beds; empty trash and dust surfaces.
• Support Storm/Disaster Team readiness and post-event cleanup.
• Drive hospital vehicle as needed.
• Follow infection prevention protocols.
