GENERAL OVERVIEW:

This position provides service support and preventive maintenance on general biomedical equipment (e.g., infusion pumps, ophthalmoscopes, vacuum regulators, SCDs, etc.) and general imaging modalities (e.g., general radiology rooms, ultrasound, processors, etc.) during normal working hours and on-call rotation as required.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes scheduled maintenance in accordance with PM Inspection and Protocol management plan. Initiates and completes documentation after repair or PM is completed. (45%)
  • Responds to unscheduled service requests from users by performing initial problem verification, troubleshooting, and problem correction. (35%)
  • Assists in medical equipment installation as required. (10%)
  • Assists other technical positions in Clinical Engineering and other departments as required. (5%)
  • Attends manufacturer service schools, in-house training, and self-directed study as required. (5%)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • Graduate from an electronic technical school OR 3 years of relevant and progressive experience
  • Associate degree in biomedical or electronic engineering

Preferred

  • 1-3 years’ hands-on experience performing direct repair and maintenance on biomedical equipment
