Job summary

Mercy University is seeking a Part-time Clinical Educator to supervise graduate student clinicians at the Dobbs Ferry Campus. The role focuses on supervision of students in speech-language pathology, with preferred expertise in childhood apraxia of speech and/or speech sound disorders.

This position emphasizes adherence to ASHA standards and professional ethics. The educator will guide student clinicians, provide feedback, maintain clinical documentation, and ensure clock hours and competency

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of supervisory experience with graduate students or clinical fellows.
• Experience in an academic clinical setting preferred.
• Adherence to ASHA supervisory and licensure standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical supervision during treatment sessions.
• Ensure compliance with ASHA supervision standards for in-person and remote sessions.
• Assist students in delivering culturally competent, client- and family-centered care.
• Meet with student clinicians weekly; plan and orient for new cases.
• Provide summative and formative feedback; edit student documentation.
• Schedule conferences at midterm and final; ensure accurate records and clock hours

Job Summary:

The Speech and Hearing Center at Mercy University, Dobbs Ferry Campus is seeking a Part-time Clinical Educator to supervise graduate student clinicians. Preferred specialty in childhood apraxia of speech and/or speech sound disorders.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

• Provide direct clinical supervision treatment sessions.
• Comply with the ASHA standards of supervision for in-person and remote sessions.
• Adhere to ASHA and NYS ethical standards for clinical practice in speech-language pathology Assist students to provide clinical services in a culturally competent manner, using client-centered and family-centered practices
• Meet individually with student clinicians at least weekly and as needed. Includes planning and orientation for new cases.
• Provide both summative and formative constructive feedback to the student.
• Edit student clinical documentation.
• Schedule and complete student conferences at midterm and final
• Ensure students have maintained accurate clinical records and clock hours (lesson plans, SOAP notes, treatment plans and progress reports).
• Approve clinic clock hours on Calipso.
• Evaluate students' clinical competencies on CALIPSO.
• Submit grade recommendations to the Clinic Director at midterm and final.
