Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Nursing Educator to collaborate with facility and market nursing leadership to assess, plan, develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for all levels of nursing and selected non-nursing staff.

The role emphasizes orientation, continuing education, in-services, and competency-based learning across units, with opportunities to contribute to governance and educational initiatives within the Tenet network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or nursing education or related specialty is required.
• Current state licenses and certifications are required.
• 2 years of nursing experience in behavioral health care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver educational programs for assigned units/clinics, including orientation, competency training, clinical education, and professional development activities.
• Implement and maintain nursing education programs that meet Tenet standards, regulatory requirements, and professional nursing practice expectations.
• Evaluate, revise, and improve educational content using adult learning principles, current research, and national nursing education standards.
• Provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership to nursing staff, preceptors, and nurse residents to support clinical competence and professional growth.
• Coordinate and facilitate continuing education programs such as in-services, specialty training, Grand Rounds, and competency-based learning initiatives.
• Manage and oversee key clinical education projects and competencies, including CPI Training, Annual Behavioral Health Competency, Restraint Competency, and Constant Observer Competency.

Job description

Under the guidance of the Market Education Director, the Nursing Educator collaborates with facility/market nursing leadership and staff across departments to assess, plan, develop, implement, facilitate, evaluate, and revise educational programming for all levels of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel as indicated or requested. The educator acts as a key resource in the orientation and continuing education of nursing staff at Tenet Healthcare. The Nursing Educator implements a comprehensive education program for his/her assigned units while following and contributing to Tenet educational goals and vision. Educational programs typically include, but are not limited to, orientation, continuing education, and in-services. Other services may include, but are not limited to, process, performance and service-delivery consultation, and contributions to the organization through councils, committees, and workgroups.
