Job summary

Asbury Springhill invites applications for a Clinical Educator and Infection Preventionist. The role combines teaching clinical skills to nursing and support staff with leading infection prevention efforts in a senior living setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience within the past 5 years (long-term care or acute care; gerontology preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical teaching experience within the past 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Creates a learning environment based on evidence-based practice using teaching strategies for adult learners.
• Teaches clinical skills to RNs, CNAs, LPNs, and ancillary staff.
• Builds professional development plans with learners to advance practice.
• Supports clinical leaders in action plans and performance improvement plans (PIPs).
• Provides constructive feedback and supports development of clinical programs and policies.
• Designs, assesses, and evaluates educational programs and outcomes.
• Collaborates with partners to support educational goals.
• Acts as a change agent and leader in nursing education and interdisciplinary efforts.
• Serves as community Infection Preventionist.

• Serves as community Infection Preventionist:

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience within the past 5 years in a long-term care or acute care setting, gerontology preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical teaching experience within the past 5 years.

Education

• Registered Nurse; licensed in the State of Pennsylvania.
• BSN required; MSN preferred. Experience may be substituted instead of education.
• ANCC Certification in Gerontological Nursing and/or Nursing Education preferred.
• Completion of coursework in adult education preferred.
• Certification in Infection Prevention & Control, preferred.
