Position Summary: The Clinical Education Specialist provides education and clinical support to STERIS Customers in infection prevention, reprocessing, and perioperative practice. Develops educational materials, offers clinical support, and consults to improve Customer processes using STERIS products/services. Supports sales objectives with value-added services.
This is a remote, customer-facing role based in Texas, requiring travel within the territory as needed.
Responsibilities
- Support the IPT Sales Team and promote STERIS solutions.
- Provide clinical expertise for product development and market launch.
- Assist Product Managers with VOC, NPD feasibility, troubleshooting, and content review.
- Engage directly with Customers, providing training, audits, and clinical expertise.
- Conduct educational seminars and workshops.
- Audit customer work processes and recommend improvements.
- Document audits and communicate findings to relevant teams.
- Address serious Customer issues with detailed documentation and communication.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships through active industry participation.
- Stay updated on sterile processing practices and regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- At least 6 years of clinical experience.
- Expertise in Central Supply Processing / Sterile Processing Department.
- Experience in clinical practice (perioperative, infection control, reprocessing, pharmacy, nursing).
- Understanding of surgical instrumentation and reprocessing principles.
- Two professional certifications within 12 months of hire (e.g., CRCST, CIS, CHL, CER, CIC, CNOR).
- Residency in Texas and ability to travel up to 70%.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with hospital credentialing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing (BSN).
- Leadership experience in a hospital SPD.
- Expertise in OR, Central Supply, Infection Prevention/Control, or Endoscopy.
