Position Summary

The Clinical Education Specialist provides professional education and clinical support to STERIS Customers in infection prevention, reprocessing, and perioperative practice. Develops educational materials, offers clinical support, and consults to improve Customer processes using STERIS products/services. Supports sales objectives through value-added services.

* This is a remote customer-facing position. Candidates must be based in Illinois, Missouri, Louisiana, or Arkansas.

What You'll Do

• Support the IPT Sales Team as Sterile Processing subject matter experts to build Customer confidence and promote solutions.
• Assist IPT Marketing with clinical expertise for new product launches and existing product concerns.
• Collaborate with Product Managers on VOC, NPD, troubleshooting, and content review.
• Work directly with Customers, Dealer Reps, and Sales/Service teams through visits, training, and communication.
• Support product in-servicing and conduct educational seminars to increase product interest and sales.
• Audit Customer work processes, identify improvement opportunities, and document findings and recommendations.
• Handle serious Customer issues with detailed documentation and communication, involving relevant internal teams.
• Proactively identify Customer needs, provide recommendations, and support troubleshooting efforts.
• Develop and review educational content, ensuring it is current and relevant.
• Build relationships within healthcare and industry organizations, participate in professional events.
• Maintain knowledge of sterile processing practices, regulations, and industry standards.

Experience, Skills, and Abilities

Required:

• Bachelor's degree
• 6+ years clinical experience
• Expertise in Central Supply Processing/SPD
• Experience in clinical practice (perioperative, infection control, reprocessing, pharmacy, nursing)
• Understanding of surgical instrumentation and reprocessing principles
• Two professional certifications within 12 months of hire (e.g., CRCST, CIS, CHL, CER, CIC, CNOR)
• Residence in Illinois, Missouri, Louisiana, or Arkansas
• Ability to travel up to 70%
• Valid driver's license
• Compliance with hospital/customer credentialing requirements

Preferred:

• Bachelor of Nursing (BSN)
• Leadership experience in hospital SPD
• Expertise in OR, Central Supply, Infection Prevention, or Endoscopy

Other:

• Completion of Lean training after hire
