Job summary

Herzing University in Florida seeks a Faculty Clinical Coordinator for Surgical Technology to design and oversee clinical experiences, ensure preceptor credentialing, and teach clinical labs. The role focuses on site management, accreditation adherence, and program outcomes across rotations.

Requirements include an associate degree (bachelor’s preferred), a surgical technology credential, and 3+ years in OR scrub or teaching roles within the past 5 years.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher required; Surgical technology credential essential.
• Bachelor's degree preferred for advancement or teaching roles.
• At least 3 years in OR scrub role or surgical technology instruction within past 5 years.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interactions with students, alumni, faculty and partners.
• Experience teaching hands-on skills to surgical technologists or students.
• Knowledge of programmatic accreditation standards (CAAHEP) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and accreditation standards related to the field.
• Identify, contract with and monitor clinical sites to meet competency requirements.
• Visit clinical sites at least once per rotation to ensure quality experiences.
• Develop clinical schedules and evaluate student learning experiences.
• Place students for practicum/externship and advise on program areas of interest.
• Provide guidance on faculty competency and compliance with site policies.
• Support program planning, reporting and campus decision-making processes.
• Assist in training and development of faculty and students for clinical sites.
