Job summary

The University of Bridgeport seeks a Director of Clinical Education to lead the School of Nursing’s clinical placement and adjunct faculty efforts. The role reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with program directors to promote student success.

The director will teach one course each semester in their area of expertise and oversee clinical education operations. Ideal candidates hold a nursing master’s degree with CT RN licensure (or eligibility), substantial clinical and teaching

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or related field is required.
• State of CT RN license (or eligible) is required.
• Recent clinical experience is required.
• Ability to demonstrate effectiveness with diverse populations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Clinical Coordinators to ensure program excellence.
• Provide leadership to coordinate delivery of clinical education.
• Schedule clinical experiences with coordinators to determine needs.
• Develop and maintain adjunct, preceptor, and clinical affiliation paperwork and contracts.
• Conduct orientation, faculty development, and evaluation for adjunct instructors.
• Analyze assessment data in collaboration with leadership.
• Initiate community outreach to enhance the School of Nursing.
• Teach one course per semester in area of expertise.
• Other duties as assigned by Executive Director.
