Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist - 2nd Level Reviewer - Remote

Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct comprehensive secondary clinical chart reviews to identify missed documentation opportunities.
  2. Act as a liaison between coding and CDI teams to resolve DRG or code discrepancies.
  3. Collaborate with CDI educators to enhance team knowledge based on review findings.
  4. Work directly with clinicians and providers to improve documentation quality through queries and education.
  5. Analyze clinical data to identify gaps or inconsistencies, and query providers following ACDIS/AHIMA guidelines.
  6. Review cases with DRG/code discrepancies, mortality risks, HACs, PSIs, or other priority diagnoses.
  7. Reconcile discrepancies between coding and clinical documentation.
  8. Communicate review findings and collaborate with relevant teams for follow-up.
  9. Document and track review outcomes, sharing insights in team meetings.
  10. Engage with physicians and clinicians to promote understanding of CDI goals and documentation accuracy.
