Job summary

University of Michigan Health - Sparrow is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to lead education and initiative efforts in clinical documentation, coding and charge capture across ambulatory settings. You will analyze data, develop education plans and collaborate with CIN and service line leaders to improve revenue capture.

Ideal candidates hold RHIT/RHIA/CCS or equivalent, have 3+ years in healthcare documentation or revenue cycle, and EPIC experience.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience providing clinical documentation and coding education to providers.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) to enable effective outcomes with diverse teams.
• Ability to navigate the EHR to identify documents or review to provide accurate capture of clinical information.

Responsibilities

• Assists in design and evaluation of tools to improve documentation and charge capture opportunities.
• Provides coding and documentation education for physicians and APPs.
• Collaborates on education efforts and onboarding processes for new providers.
