A healthcare organization in Hartford, CT seeks a Clinical Director to lead the Adult Medicine Department. As Clinical Director, you’ll oversee clinical operations, provide direct patient care, and collaborate with leadership to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
The position combines administrative responsibilities with clinical practice, allowing you to shape a thriving department known for its NCQA-recognized diabetes program, top-performing Ryan White program, and robust Care Coordination Team. You’ll report directly to the Chief Medical Officer and work closely with a Nurse Manager, Practice Manager, and Director of Infectious Diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and leadership for the Adult Medicine Department.
- Lead strategic initiatives to enhance clinical operations, patient satisfaction, and workflow.
- Deliver high-quality patient care and maintain a collaborative environment.
- Supervise clinical providers, including advanced practitioners (APRNs, PAs).
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and retention of staff.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with clinical and administrative standards.
- Analyze data to drive evidence-based decisions and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Board-Certified: Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
- Patient-Centered Care: Skilled in delivering efficient, high-quality care to underserved populations with complex needs.
- Leadership Experience: Background in managing teams, recruitment, and compliance in health centers or private practices.
- Advanced Practitioner Oversight: Experience supervising APRNs and PAs.
- Strategic and Collaborative: Proven in setting departmental goals, fostering teamwork, and driving continuous improvement.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Competence in analyzing data for evidence-based outcomes and organizational contributions.
- EHR Proficiency: Skilled in electronic health records systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Physician License in the state of CT
