Job description

Are you an experienced Nurse Practitioner who loves patient care but is ready to have a broader impact through leadership?

Pine Park Health is looking for a Clinical Medical Director, NP to lead and develop our Bay Area clinical team while remaining connected to clinical practice. You'll lead and develop a small team of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, with responsibility for coaching and development, provider performance, clinical quality, hiring, and team growth — while continuing to care for older adults in senior living communities.

You don't need to currently hold a formal "Director" title to apply. We're interested in experienced Nurse Practitioners who have genuinely led or managed clinicians — including Lead NPs, APP Leads, NP/APP Managers, Clinical Managers, Clinical Supervisors, and similar clinical leaders — and are ready to take on broader leadership responsibilities. If you have meaningful people-leadership experience but haven't held that exact title, we still want to hear from you.

Compensation & Flexibility

Total target cash compensation for this role is $192,000 - $225,000, inclusive of base salary and performance-based bonus. The compensation package includes a competitive base salary plus a 10–15% performance-based bonus, paid quarterly, along with equity and comprehensive benefits. Plus Sign-On Bonus

The role also includes 265 hours of paid time off annually for vacation, sick time, and paid holidays; Friday work-from-home learning days; professional development funding; medical, dental, and vision coverage; and a 401(k). Final compensation will reflect the candidate's relevant clinical experience and depth of people-leadership experience.

What You'll Do
Lead a Clinical Team
  • Lead, coach, and develop a small team of Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants across the Bay Area, regularly spending time in the field alongside providers to observe care delivery, provide coaching, and stay connected to their day-to-day work.
  • Hold regular 1:1s and provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
  • Manage provider performance against clinical and operational expectations, including patient visits, documentation timeliness, and care-gap closure.
  • Optimize provider schedules, patient panels, and clinical coverage across the Bay Area.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, and developing new clinical team members.
  • Lead quality-improvement initiatives and help improve clinical workflows and care delivery.
  • Partner closely with clinical, operations, growth, and other cross-functional leaders.
Build Strong Community Partnerships
  • Develop relationships with senior living community leaders and staff.
  • Serve as a clinical leadership point of contact for our community partners.
  • Support new community launches and the growth of existing partnerships.
  • Address clinical and operational concerns while building strong, collaborative relationships.
Stay Connected to Patient Care

You'll remain connected to patients and clinical practice.

  • Provide primary care to older adults in senior living communities.
  • Establish meaningful patient relationships through comprehensive Welcome Visits and individualized Care Plans.
  • Conduct Annual Wellness Visits, patient assessments, medication management, and follow-up care.
  • Provide post-discharge care for patients transitioning from acute or skilled nursing facilities.
  • Respond to urgent medical and behavioral health needs.
  • Provide clinical coverage when members of your team are unavailable.
  • Help prevent unnecessary emergency department visits and hospitalizations through accessible, proactive care.
What We're Looking For
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Meaningful experience practicing independently as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing clinicians. You may currently be a Medical Director, Clinical Director, NP Manager, APP Manager, Clinical Supervisor, Lead NP, Lead APP, or hold another title that includes genuine responsibility for the performance and development of other clinicians.
  • Experience providing performance feedback, managing clinical or operational expectations, and holding team members accountable.
  • Strong clinical judgment and the ability to independently assess patients, develop comprehensive care plans, and manage chronic conditions.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, multi-site healthcare environment.
  • Ability and willingness to drive regularly throughout the Bay Area as an integral part of leading and supporting the clinical team.
Strongly Preferred
  • Primary care, geriatrics, internal medicine, complex or chronic care, home-based care, senior care, population health, value-based care, or similar clinical experience.
  • Experience leading Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, or other advanced practice clinicians.
  • Experience hiring, onboarding, coaching, and conducting performance reviews.
  • Experience managing clinical teams against measurable performance goals.
  • Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner specialization.
  • Active unrestricted DEA registration with applicable schedules.

This is a field-based Bay Area leadership role. Regular travel is required to support and shadow providers across our partner communities in Sonoma, Marin County, the Peninsula, and the East Bay. Candidates must be comfortable driving throughout the region as an integral part of leading their team, staying connected to providers and community partners, and understanding care delivery in the field.
