• Familiarity with Joint Commission accreditation standards and readiness.
• Strong understanding of documentation, treatment planning, QA and risk management.
• Experience supervising clinical staff and developing a strong clinical team.
• Experience with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, and crisis-management skills.

Responsibilities

Essential Qualifications:

Primary Responsibilities:

The Clinical Director will oversee both the clinical and operational functions of the program. This includes ensuring that the program consistently meets clinical, regulatory, and accreditation standards while supporting the day-to-day operations of the facility.

Key responsibilities should include:

• Providing clinical leadership and supervision to the treatment team
• Overseeing treatment planning, clinical programming, documentation, and quality of care
• Ensuring compliance with DHCS regulations and Joint Commission standards
• Participating in audits, surveys, corrective action plans, and ongoing quality improvement efforts
• Supporting staff development, training, and performance management
• Collaborating with medical, nursing, behavioral health, and administrative staff
• Managing clinical concerns, incidents, and risk-management issues
• Supporting admissions, treatment extensions, discharge planning, and continuity of care
• Helping maintain a safe, therapeutic, and clinically appropriate environment for clientsParticipating in operational decision-making and assisting with the overall management of the program
• Maintaining a caseload of approximately six clients and providing direct clinical services, including individual sessions, treatment planning, and other clinical interventions
