Job summary

The Idaho Youth Ranch seeks a Clinical Director to lead Outpatient, Equine, and Animal-Assisted Therapy Programs in Idaho. You will shape trauma-informed care, guide youth-guided practices, and set program strategy with senior leadership.

You will recruit and supervise Therapists and interns, ensure clinical integrity, and expand services while managing budgets and facilities. A master’s degree and applicable licensure are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a direct clinical practice field (e.g., social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy).
• Licensure corresponding to degree (e.g., LCSW, LCPC) with the ability to supervise.
• 3+ years post-graduate experience in direct mental health service delivery incl. programming, training, and supervision.
• 2+ years supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead and manage program operations and staff outside of a traditional clinical team.
• Knowledge of Strengths-based, Family-driven, Youth-guided, Trauma-informed, Crisis Intervention, and Collaborative Problem Solving models.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall clinical direction for the Outpatient, Equine and Animal-Assisted Therapy Programs.
• Recruit, hire, and evaluate Therapists, Equine Therapists and clinical interns.
• Provide clinical consultation and supervision to clinical staff and team members.
• Ensure that treatment integrity is addressed and improved through monitoring, tracking, and systematic supervision.
• Research, develops, and incorporate additional animal therapy modalities into treatment plans.
• Identify budget, staffing, and facility needs to support current operations and expansion.

As a Clinical Director, you will be directly involved in nurturing the hope, healing, and resilience in Idaho as part of our founding senior leadership team. This team will be leading the development of our programs, selecting and building our staff and organizational culture and advancing leading practices in trauma-informed, youth-guided and family-driven behavioral health practices.

Must Haves

• Master’s degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice human services field (e.g., social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy)
• Licensure that corresponds to degree (e.g., LCSW, LCPC) with the ability to clinically supervise
• Three+ years post-graduate experience in direct mental health service delivery, including clinical programming, training, and supervisory responsibilities
• Two+ years supervisory experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage program operations and staff outside of a traditional clinical team (e.g., program, facility, or animal-care staff)
• Understand and be able to utilize the following treatment philosophies/models/approaches: Strengths-based, Family-driven, Youth-guided, Trauma-informed, Crisis Intervention, and Collaborative Problem Solving

Preferred

• Experience with equine or other animal-assisted therapy programs
• Knowledge of animal welfare and horse care standards
• Experience developing or expanding a clinical or therapeutic program
• Knowledge of the juvenile justice and social service fields
• Experience with Joint Commission and/or other accrediting and/or regulatory bodies

Our Clinical Director

• Partners with clinical staff to integrate animal-assisted interventions into individualized treatment and service plans.
• Identifies budget, staffing, and facility needs to support current operations and program expansion
