Job summary

The Idaho Youth Ranch seeks a Clinical Director to lead and shape our Outpatient, Equine and Animal-Assisted Therapy programs in Idaho. This role is part of our founding senior leadership team, guiding program development, staff selection, and organizational culture focused on trauma-informed, youth-guided and family-driven care.

You will supervise therapists and interns, provide clinical consultation, ensure program integrity, and explore expanding animal-assisted modalities in collaboration

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a direct clinical practice field (e.g., social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy).
• Licensure corresponding to degree (e.g., LCSW, LCPC) with ability to supervise clinically.
• Three+ years post-graduate experience in direct mental health service delivery, including clinical programming, training, and supervisory responsibilities.
• Two+ years supervisory experience.
• Ability to lead and manage program operations and staff outside a traditional clinical team.

Responsibilities

• Provides overall clinical direction for Outpatient, Equine and Animal-Assisted Therapy Programs.
• Recruits, hires, and evaluates Therapists, Equine Therapists and clinical interns.
• Provides clinical consultation and supervision to clinical staff.
• Ensures treatment integrity through monitoring and supervision.
• Researches and incorporates additional animal therapy modalities.
• Partners with clinical staff to integrate animal-assisted interventions into treatment plans.
• Identifies budget, staffing, and facility needs to support operations and expansion.

As a Clinical Director, you will be directly involved in nurturing the hope, healing, and resilience in Idaho as part of our founding senior leadership team. This team will be leading the development of our programs, selecting and building our staff and organizational culture and advancing leading practices in trauma-informed, youth-guided and family-driven behavioral health practices.

Must haves:

• Master’s degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice human services field (e.g., social work, psychology, or marriage and family therapy)
• Licensure that corresponds to degree (e.g., LCSW, LCPC) with the ability to clinically supervise
• Three+ years post-graduate experience in direct mental health service delivery, including clinical programming, training, and supervisory responsibilities
• Two+ years supervisory experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage program operations and staff outside of a traditional clinical team (e.g., program, facility, or animal-care staff)
• Understand and be able to utilize the following treatment philosophies/models/approaches: Strengths-based, Family-driven, Youth-guided, Trauma-informed, Crisis Intervention, and Collaborative Problem Solving

Preferred:

• Experience with equine or other animal-assisted therapy programs
• Knowledge of animal welfare and horse care standards
• Experience developing or expanding a clinical or therapeutic program
• Knowledge of the juvenile justice and social service fields
• Experience with Joint Commission and/or other accrediting and/or regulatory bodies

Our Clinical Director:

• Provides overall clinical direction for the Outpatient, Equine and Animal-Assisted Therapy Programs

• Partners with clinical staff to integrate animal-assisted interventions into individualized treatment and service plans.
• Identifies budget, staffing, and facility needs to support current operations and program expansion
