Description:

The Nutritionist provides optimal nutrition care for inpatients and outpatients, utilizing the Nutrition Care Process in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. This process includes nutritional assessment, diagnosis, intervention, and monitoring/evaluation. The incumbent also plans, organizes, implements, and evaluates individualized nutrition education; precepts dietetics and other health professional students; and independently orders diets, supplements, and tube feedings as approved by the Medical Staff Office at each facility.

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in dietetics or a related field.
  • Effective July 1, 2019, all newly registered dietitians or dietitians practicing in Indiana must hold an active Indiana license.
  • All current registered dietitians must maintain Indiana certification until their next renewal period.
  • Effective January 1, 2021, all dietitians must have an active Indiana license.
  • Registration-eligible hires are required to obtain their RD and LD credentials within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to develop medical care plans.
