Job summary

Alan B. Miller Medical Center is seeking a Dietitian per diem to provide clinical nutrition services including nutrition assessment, counseling, and diet modification for patients.

You will work under the director on special projects, contribute to education for patients and families, and participate in performance improvement initiatives within a high-acuity hospital setting. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics, Florida state license and registration, and at least 1

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from an accredited educational institution.
• 1 year Dietitian experience required
• Acute care experience preferred
• Requires Florida State License and registration

Responsibilities

• Assess nutritional status including dehydration risk and dysphagia considerations.
• Provide nutrition counseling/education and modified-diet formulation.
• Engage in projects designated by director and support education for patients and families.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives to ensure quality nutrition care.

Alan B. Miller Medical Center

A neighborhood hospital with medical center excellence! The new state-of-the-art hospital will join UHS’ growing regional network of healthcare operations which includes Wellington Regional Medical Center, the ER at Westlake (an extension of Wellington Regional Medical Center), Wellington Physicians Urgent Care and other healthcare services and access points. The Alan B. Miller Medical Center will feature 150 private patient rooms, a medical office building and a helistop. Upon completion of the initial phase of the project, the hospital campus will include 365,000 square feet of hospital and medical office space. The new Medical Center will offer comprehensive medical services including Emergency Care, Orthopedics and Surgical Services, Labor and Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. In addition, the campus will be home to medical office buildings that will provide outpatient services.

Dietitian Per Diem

Assumes responsibility and accountability for performing functions of a specialized clinical nutrition service, such as nutrition assessment/reassessment, nutrition counseling/education, modifieddiet formulation, performance improvement projectsdesignatedper director and education functions necessary to provide quality nutrition care to patients. Responsible for special projects as assigned.Assess nutritional status to include potential for dehydration due to reluctance to drink fluids/fear of choking, dysphagia, inappropriate food consistency for assess condition, increased risk of respiratory complications, enteral nutrition needs and provide patient/family education on special diets.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition/Dietetics from an accredited educational institution.

Experience

• 1 year Dietitian experience required
• Acute care experience preferred
