A leading healthcare provider in Philadelphia is seeking a Clinical Dietitian II specializing in gastroenterology. This role involves assessing and managing nutrition for patients in outpatient and inpatient settings, focusing on pediatric nutrition and obesity. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge and experience, along with effective communication skills to educate patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
The Clinical Dietitian II is responsible for patients in GI outpatient clinics, including satellites, and may also cover inpatients on the GI service. This role includes patients within the Healthy Teens, Healthy Kids, Weight Management, and Bariatric Program. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive nutrition assessments, diagnosing nutrition-related problems, implementing targeted nutrition interventions, and monitoring outcomes using the Nutrition Care Process.
The Clinical Dietitian II may have medical nutrition order writing privileges and participate in EMR order entry for oral nutrition supplements, modulars, diets, tube feedings (enteral nutrition), and intravenous feedings (parenteral nutrition) as per protocols. The role involves providing nutrition education to patients and parents, participating in educational programs for staff, community, and professional groups, and engaging in performance improvement and research activities.
Candidates should possess strong clinical nutrition knowledge in pediatric nutrition, gastroenterology, obesity, and nutrition support. The role includes collaboration with healthcare professionals, mentoring interns and students, and reporting to the Director of Clinical Nutrition.
Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, RD credential from CDR, Pennsylvania Licensure (LDN) within 90 days of hire. Advanced certifications (CSP, CNSC, CDE, etc.) are preferred or to be obtained within 12 months.
At least two years of clinical experience as a Dietitian, pediatric experience preferred. Must hold RD/RDN credential and obtain Pennsylvania Licensure within 90 days.
