Job summary

SIH Carbondale is seeking a Dietitian to develop care plans meeting patients' nutritional needs. You will screen patients for nutritional status, recommend supplements and diet changes, and provide nutrition education to physicians, staff, patients and families. Required: Bachelor’s degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics; Registered Dietitian or license pending.

Responsibilities

• Consults with inpatients, family, physicians, nurses and staff, as appropriate, to provide nutrition education.
• Assesses and reassesses patients at nutritional risk and makes recommendations for nutrition therapy.
• Develops or orders nutrition education materials for patients, employees and the community.
• Reviews and revises modified diet information provided by Food & Nutrition Services.
• Provides nutritional education to employees, outpatients and community members as needed.
