University Health is seeking a Clinical Dietitian to collaborate with the health care team to deliver nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy consistent with patient care goals and institutional standards.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field, with a graduate degree preferred, and at least one year of clinical dietitian experience. English/Spanish bilingual abilities are preferred to support diverse patients.
The Clinical Dietitian works closely with the interdisciplinary health care team to provide nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy that are integrated and compatible with the patient's medical program goals and objectives. Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy using established standards of care and practice protocols/guidelines; managing resources in a cost-effective manner; participating in performance improvement efforts; and maintaining professional competency and skills required for professional practice. Maintains accepted standards of dietetics and nutrition as recommended by the American Dietetic Association, University Health System and department policies. Maintains good guests, patient and professional working relations.
A Bachelor's degree in nutrition or related field is required. A graduate degree in Nutrition or related field is preferred. One year of experience as a clinical dietitian is required. Bilingual abilities (English/Spanish) are preferred.
Must be a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association. Must possess a current license from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Dietitians.
