Clinical Dietitian (Finance)
This position provides clinical nutrition consultation in coordination with Physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
1. Nutrition Operations - Ensures Delivery of Quality Clinical Nutrition Services
- Functions as a nutrition consultant, completing nutrition consults and referrals from Nemours and community providers.
- Conducts nutrition assessment and intervention for inpatients and outpatients, as required. For inpatients, this includes those identified at high nutrition risk; completes re-screens for patients at moderate or low risk upon admission.
- Develops and implements nutritional care plans based on diet history, labs, medications, supplements, medical history, and other relevant factors.
- Performs nutrition counseling for pediatric patients/caretakers regarding disease-specific diets and formulas, including calculation of specialized formula recipes.
- Documents assessments and recommendations via EPIC medical record system.
- Participates in team rounds as necessary.
- Provides recommendations and prescribes enteral and parenteral nutrition orders as needed.
- Demonstrates clinical proficiency and completes all required competencies.
- Updates teaching materials for nutritional therapies.
- Serves as a nutrition resource to the medical team, hospital staff, and community.
- Coordinates nutritional care with various healthcare providers.
- Fulfills rotating on-call responsibilities with other dietitian staff.
2. Professional Development
- Attends continuing education to maintain credentials and expand skills.
- Participates as a speaker or author on pediatric nutrition topics.
- Fulfills continuing education requirements for registration and licensure, including specialty certifications if applicable.
3. Research and Evidence-Based Practice
- Stays updated with emerging research and guidelines.
- Participates in research projects with other disciplines.
Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree from an accredited U.S. institution and coursework approved by CADE of AND. Continuing education is required for maintaining registration and licensure. A master's degree in a related field is preferred. Hospital and pediatric experience are also preferred. Nemours is seeking a per diem Clinical Dietitian.
