Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX is seeking a full-time Registered Dietitian to join its clinical nutrition team. You will evaluate patients’ nutritional needs and develop tailored meal plans to support recovery and disease management.

You will work with physicians, nurses and other clinicians to integrate nutrition into patient care, educate patients and families on proper diets, and ensure meals meet prescribed diets and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian credential is required.
• Healthcare experience in a clinical setting is desirable (1 year).

Responsibilities

• Nutritional assessment based on medical conditions, labs, and health history.
• Develop individualized meal plans to support recovery and manage conditions.
• Track progress and adjust plans to meet nutritional goals.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses and other health professionals to integrate nutrition into care.
• Educate patients and families about nutrition and post-discharge planning.
• Ensure meals align with prescribed diets and safety standards.

Location: Harlingen Medical Center - Harlingen, TX

Responsibilities

• Nutritional assessment: evaluate patients' dietary needs based on medical conditions, lab results, and health history
• Develop meal plans: create individualized nutrition plans to support recovery, manage chronic diseases, or address specific conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or malnutrition
• Track patients’ progress, adjust meal plans as needed, and ensure nutritional goals are met
• Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into patient care plans
• Educate patients and their families about proper nutrition education, special diets, or post-discharge meal planning
• Ensure meals prepared by the dietary staff align with prescribed diets and safety standards

** Nutrition experience and nutrition support as it relates to tube feedings and (Total Parenteral Nutrition) TPN. **

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian Required (CMS requirement).
• One year healthcare experience desirable.
