Position Overview

Registered Dietitian supporting Inpatient Clinical Nutrition

Responsibilities

1. The Registered Dietitian (RD) will support inpatients who are screened at nutrition risk or referred by healthcare providers for nutrition-related issues, chronic disease management, and nutrition support, ensuring regulatory compliance.
2. The RD acts as a patient advocate within the multidisciplinary team, ensuring nutritional needs are met, including managing nutrition support (enteral or parenteral).
3. Apply the Nutrition Care Process (NCP): perform assessments, diagnose, develop and implement interventions, monitor progress, and communicate care plans.
4. Conduct nutrition-focused physical exams, identify malnutrition, and develop care plans for complex cases.
5. Provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy, including management of enteral nutrition, under delegated authority per protocols.
6. Manage resources efficiently, participate in quality improvement, and oversee dietetic intern experiences.
7. Engage in educational activities for healthcare professionals and contribute to policy development.
8. Maintain professional competencies.

• Obtain Indiana State License within 6 months of hire.
