Position Summary
Maintains good rapport and cooperative relationships. Approaches conflict constructively. Helps identify problems, offers solutions, and participates in their resolution.
Maintains confidentiality of patient, physician, employee, and visitor information. Discusses hospital information only among appropriate personnel in private settings.
Maintains knowledge to perform job duties safely, reports hazards and unsafe practices immediately, and completes Patient Safety Learning Defects tools when appropriate.
Demonstrates self-directed learning and behaves in accordance with Chelsea Hospital/Trinity Health's Mission, Vision, and Values.
Provides quality patient care considering age-specific, developmental, and cultural needs. Demonstrates unit competencies.
Identifies and helps resolve safety, sanitation, and environmental issues.
Practices effective communication with patients, visitors, and co-workers.
Promotes a positive work environment through teamwork.
Revises patient education materials as needed.
Participates in writing, reviewing, and updating departmental policies.
Handles RD tasks such as screening referrals, diet education, and catching up on work not done over the weekend.
Coordinates ordering and maintaining office supplies with the Foodservice department secretary.
Complies with hospital staff requirements, including mandatory training.
Provides educational services to other departments as needed.
Fulfills all clinical RD responsibilities: nutrition screening, assessment of at-risk patients, follow-up on TPN or tube-fed patients, calorie counts, diet instructions, and education on nutrient-drug interactions.
Participates in multidisciplinary committees and task forces as assigned.
