Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network in Hazleton is seeking a Dietary Aide to assist with meal preparation following standardized recipes and diet specifications, ensuring safety and quality in patient meals.

You will prepare nourishments, stock stations, and help with plating and service, while upholding food safety standards. The role involves lifting 40–50 lbs and Day Shift with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand instructions, recipe directions, and diet order cards.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and sanitation.
• Knowledge of clinical diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepares between-meal nourishments and serves in accordance to procedural guidelines.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food products at line stations to ensure a smooth meal service.
• Ensures that all nourishments are delivered at correct time and are properly stored.
• Handles all food properly and records and maintains all food temperature checks.
• Places food on tray or plate according to menu and diet requirements.
• Performs final plate preparation, including plating and garnishing.
• Obtains food supplies for next meal and labels food properly.
• Offers menu substitutions when items are out of stock.
• Tastes, smells, and observes all foods prepared to confirm recipes and flavor.
