Job summary

Lehigh Valley Health Network is seeking a Dietary Aide at Lehigh Valley Hospital- Hazleton to assist in meal preparation and service. The role follows standardized recipes and food handling procedures to ensure diet-specific meals are prepared accurately.

You will support the kitchen team, prepare nourishments, monitor temperatures, and ensure timely delivery of meals while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand instructions, recipe directions, and diet order cards.
• Knowledge of safety guidelines and sanitation.
• Knowledge of clinical diets.

Responsibilities

• Prepares between-meal nourishments and serves per guidelines.
• Stocks and maintains sufficient levels of food at line stations to ensure smooth meal service.
• Ensures nourishments are delivered at correct times and stored properly.
• Handles all food safely and records temperature checks.
• Places food on tray or plate according to menu and diet requirements.
• Performs final plate preparation, plating and garnishing.
• Obtains food supplies for next meal and labels foods properly.
• Offers menu substitutions when items are out of stock.
• Tastes and observes all foods to confirm recipes and flavor.
