Job description

About the company

Biorce is a pioneering Healthtech company dedicated to revolutionizing drug development through the power of AI. We are passionate about accelerating medical advancements and improving patient outcomes.

Our team comprises seasoned clinical research professionals, data scientists, and AI experts, working collaboratively to bridge the gap between cutting‑edge technology and real‑world clinical needs.

With an unwavering commitment to revolutionize healthcare, we envision a world where all patients benefit from accelerated and cost‑effective access to treatments. Biorce is poised to redefine the landscape of healthcare, shaping a future where innovation and accessibility converge for the betterment of humanity.

About the role

Following our successful expansion into the U.S. and continued growth across Europe, we are seeking a Clinical Data Specialist to help drive our Scientific function from our Austin or Barcelona hubs.

Reporting directly to our Chief Scientific Officer, this person will play a critical role in teaching Aika how to “read” and “understand” clinical research: transforming unstructured clinical notes, protocols, and medical records into the high‑quality, structured training data that powers our platform.

Who We're Looking For

Someone with a clinical or life sciences background who is genuinely energised by data work. Not just managing it, but shaping it. We're looking for a detail‑obsessed professional who understands that a single mislabeled data point can compromise the validity of a clinical model.

This person should be able to bridge clinical knowledge and AI training workflows, partnering closely with engineering and product to elevate the quality and rigor of Aika's outputs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead high‑fidelity annotation of diverse clinical datasets, including trial protocols, Case Report Forms (CRFs), and medical literature.
  • Work closely with AI and Engineering teams to provide the “human‑in‑the‑loop” expertise required to refine machine learning models.
  • Apply clinical coding standards (such as MedDRA, WHODrug, or SNOMED CT) to ensure data interoperability and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct rigorous audits of annotated data to maintain the “ground truth” accuracy essential for regulatory‑grade AI outputs.
  • Extract key entities (inclusion/exclusion criteria, endpoints, biomarkers) from unstructured documents to enhance the platform's predictive capabilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Health Informatics.
  • 2+ years in clinical data management (CDM) or clinical research, with focus on data cleaning or medical coding.
  • Proven experience with data labeling tools or strong understanding of NLP concepts in a medical context.
  • Deep familiarity with clinical trial phases, protocol design, and regulatory requirements (FDA/EMA).
  • An obsessive eye for detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Experience with SDTM, USDM, or other clinical data standards.
  • Background in AI/ML model training or evaluation.
  • Exposure to EHR data and real‑world evidence workflows.
  • Additional languages (Spanish, Portuguese).
Why Join Us?
  • A dynamic work environment with an international team, where collaboration and diversity thrive.
  • Work alongside top talent, united by a shared purpose and committed to making a real impact.
  • Comprehensive private health coverage to ensure your physical and mental well‑being.
  • Hybrid work model offering flexibility to balance your professional and personal life.
  • Company events to celebrate achievements and enjoy time together.
  • Get equipped with a MacBook to enhance your productivity and work experience.
  • Our office is pet‑friendly! You'll likely be greeted by a few wagging tails upon arrival.

By submitting this application, I agree that my personal data will be collected, processed, and retained by the company solely for the purposes of managing and assessing my candidacy.
