Job summary

State University of New York at Buffalo is seeking a Clinical Data Manager within VPHS Research Administration and Finance. The role focuses on supporting interdisciplinary collaborations, interfacing with statisticians and external partners, and maintaining data standards across trials.

You will plan data management strategies, assist with EDC/eCRF design, perform QA/QC, and drive data reporting improvements while supervising Data Manager Assistants and shaping SOPs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in appropriate field.
• Master’s degree in statistics, data science, computer science, mathematics, public health, or related fields with at least two years data management experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in study planning and data management design.
• Assist with study implementation and design of the Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems, electronic Case Report Forms (eCRFs), and database schema.
• Perform quality assurance and quality control tasks per Good Clinical Data Management Practices, Data Management Plans, and Statistical Analysis Plans.
• Assist with data reporting and optimization of data collection processes and methods.
• Lead assigned data management and statistical projects applying project management skills and clinical trial workflows.
• Train and supervise Data Manager Assistants on study procedures and trial data handling.
• Assist with the design and implementation of data management processes and SOPs.
