Responsible to review medical records, lab results, and other clinical documentation to assign appropriate codes based on standardized coding systems.

Essential Functions
-Review and analyze medical records, laboratory findings, and other clinical data to assign appropriate codes using standardized coding systems (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
-Ensure accurate and consistent coding of medical information to maintain data quality and integrity.
-Enter coded clinical data into electronic databases or clinical trial management systems.
-Adhere to established coding guidelines, clinical protocols, and regulatory requirements related to clinical data coding.
-Validate the accuracy of coded data and resolve any discrepancies or inconsistencies.
Qualifications Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required and Bachelor's Degree Health Information Management preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Certified Professional Coder - American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) required Experience Experience in medical coding, clinical data management, or a related field. 2-3 years required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and disease processes to accurately assign codes. - Familiarity with standardized coding systems, such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS. - Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing and coding clinical data. - Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and data management software. - Analytical and problem-solving skills to validate and reconcile coded data. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented research environment.
