• Complete documentation and maintain records in line with PCC practices.
• Coordinate off-campus resources and higher levels of care when needed.

Overview

Provide individual clinical services to students coping withco-occurring substance use/addiction and mental health concerns.This is a 9 month academic year part-time position.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide direct counseling for students and student athletes.Assess level of substance use and mental health concerns. Provideintervention, treatment and referrals. Assess range of mentalhealth symptoms, substance misuse/abuse/addiction symptoms andbehaviors. Provide referral of students to off campus resources,higher levels of care, detox, and assist with medical leaverequests. Provide substance use assessment and treatment plans tostudent athletes who test positive on NCAA drug tests. Provide follow-up with students involved in substance use emergenciesrequiring emergency intervention. Coordinate care as needed.Provide substance use/harm reduction group therapy options tointerested students. (35%)
2. Assess students’ emotional, psychological, behavioral,substance use, and developmental mental health concerns whichimpact current level of functioning. Conduct extensive clinicalinterviews/assessment/consultation to formulate appropriatetreatments plans. Coordinate off-campus psychiatric and/or medicalevaluations when necessary and referrals to both on and off campusresources. (30%)
3. Provide substance use assessment and treatment plans to studentathletes who test positive on NCAA drug tests. Provide follow-upwith students involved in substance use emergencies requirementemergency intervention. Coordinate care as needed. Providesubstance use/harm reduction group therapy options to interestedstudents. Connect and consult with psychiatric and other healthcare providers. Refer to on and off campus professionals whenappropriate. (15%)
4. Provide crisis intervention for students who are experiencingacute emotional distress as a result of varying emergencies such as trauma (i.e. security assault), death, substance misuse, or who area danger to themselves (i.e. suicidal thoughts) or are a danger toothers. Determine severity of presenting crisis, degree of danger,level of harm to oneself or others; assess appropriateinterventions necessary, coordinate on and off campus assistancewith support services. Provide psychological/clinical judgment whenrequired to administration, including the Executive Director ofPersonal Counseling, AD of Substance Use Services, and the Officeof the Vice President. (10%)
5. Complete documentation of clinical and case managementencounters within a strict timeline. Maintain records and clinicalinformation consistent with professional standards and PCCpractices. Ensure readiness of documentation for in-officepsychiatry referrals. (10%)

MARGINAL DUTIES:

1. Perform all other duties as may be required.

Education and Experience

• Master’s degree in mental health counseling, clinical social work, or clinical psychology required.
• One to three years’ experience post-licensure provision ofindividual clinical services or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in emergency mental health assessment and crisis intervention, substance use assessment, and disordered eatingscreenings.
• Experience providing ongoing care to individuals coping withsubstance use disorders and mental health diagnoses.
• Experience working with young adult populations, preferablywithin a college mental health setting.
• Ability to work independently clinically while stillparticipating as part of a team.
• Experience with diverse cultural backgrounds and identitiessuch as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, first generation students, neurodiverse students.
• Intermediate experience with electronic medical recordsoftware.
• Basic experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.
