MUSC Children's Health is seeking a Clinical Counselor in North Charleston, South Carolina. The role focuses on providing direct patient care, managing groups of children with behavioral health problems, and leading therapeutic sessions. Provides direct patient care, manages groups of patients, and provides a safe and therapeutic milieu. Direct patient care services include assessment, planning, monitoring, advocacy, psychosocial rehabilitation, and direct intervention. Under the direction of the Program Coordinator, the Clinical Counselor is responsible for group therapy care as directed by the multi‑disciplinary treatment plan. The Clinical Counselor will plan and lead groups focusing on coping skills, social skills, and self‑esteem for children with behavioral health problems. Clinical Counselors will be involved in treatment team meetings and work closely with Social Workers, psychiatrists, and nurses to assist children and adolescents in rehabilitating back into the school and home environment.
