TAG MedStaffing is seeking a Clinical Coordinator in New York City to support behavioral health services within a community-based residential program serving vulnerable populations.

This leadership role conducts psychosocial assessments, coordinates client care, and provides crisis intervention and trauma-informed guidance. NY licensure (LCSW/LMHC) and a Master’s degree are required, with strong documentation and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
• Active New York State LCSW or LMHC license required.
• Experience in behavioral health services, clinical assessments, crisis intervention, or case coordination.
• Experience serving vulnerable populations (e.g., homelessness) preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic documentation or case management systems.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation and collaboration skills.
• Bilingual Spanish skills preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clinical Services: Conduct psychosocial assessments, support clinical evaluations, and provide behavioral health expertise.
• Care Coordination: Coordinate client care with case management and leadership, develop service recommendations, referrals.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, safety planning, and guidance.
• Staff Support: Coach staff on trauma-informed care, best practices, and client engagement.
• Documentation & Compliance: Complete timely clinical documentation and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, psychoeducational groups, and QA initiatives.

Job Overview – Clinical Coordinator (Temporary to Permanent)

Compensation: $53.00–$90.00/hour + benefits

Location: New York City, NY

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Clinical Coordinator (Temporary to Permanent) for our client, supporting behavioral health services within a community-based residential program serving vulnerable populations. This clinical leadership role will provide behavioral health expertise, conduct assessments, support case management teams, coordinate client care, and promote trauma-informed service delivery. The ideal candidate will be a licensed behavioral health professional with strong clinical assessment skills, experience supporting individuals with complex behavioral health needs, and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment. Candidates who can independently perform psychiatric evaluations are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities as the Clinical Coordinator:

• Clinical Services: Conduct psychosocial assessments, support clinical evaluations, and provide behavioral health expertise for clients with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
• Care Coordination: Partner with case management teams and program leadership to coordinate client care, develop service recommendations, and facilitate referrals to community providers.
• Crisis Intervention: Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation support, safety planning, and clinical guidance for complex client situations.
• Staff Support: Serve as a clinical resource by coaching staff on trauma-informed care, behavioral health best practices, and client engagement strategies.
• Documentation & Compliance: Complete and maintain timely clinical documentation while ensuring compliance with agency policies, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards.
• Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, case conferences, psychoeducational groups, and quality improvement initiatives to support program outcomes.

Qualifications for the Clinical Coordinator:

• Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Licensure: Active New York State LCSW or LMHC license is required.
• Experience: Experience providing behavioral health services, clinical assessments, crisis intervention, or case coordination within human services, behavioral health, or residential programs is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Experience supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, or other vulnerable populations is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation or case management systems is required.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong clinical judgment, communication, documentation, crisis intervention, organizational, and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams are required. The ability to independently perform psychiatric evaluations and bilingual Spanish language skills are preferred.
