Job summary

Tyler Regional Hospital in Tyler, Texas, is seeking a day shift, full-time Surgery Center Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Coordinator to lead nursing staff and oversee patient care in a fast-paced surgical setting. The role focuses on coordinating services, maintaining care standards, and supporting hospital goals within the designated department.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced RN licensed in Texas, with circulating and/or scrub experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing and licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
• Specific service line circulating and/or scrub experience.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• BSN is preferred.
• At least two years of recent OR experience is preferred.
• ACLS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise staff assigned to the department, supporting the hospital's mission and promoting harmonious relationships among nursing personnel, medical staff, and ancillary departments.
• Deliver care to a specific group of patients and evaluate the quality of that care to improve outcomes.
• Ensure care is delivered within hospital philosophy and approved budget, in concert with other departments and services.
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.

• This position is located in the new Medical Education Building (MEB).
• UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region's only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups.

Responsibilities

• The Clinical Coordinator directs and supervises staff members assigned to the department, supports and interprets the mission of the hospital and promotes harmonious relationships among nursing personnel, medical staff, ancillary departments, patients and families.
• The Clinical Coordinator provides for the delivery of care to a specific group of patients and evaluates the quality of that care in a systematic fashion, in order to improve care.
• Ensure care is delivered within the framework of hospital philosophy and approved budget, and in concert with other departments and services within and outside of the hospital.
• The Coordinator must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
