Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Medical City Dallas is seeking a Clinical Coordinator Respiratory Therapy to lead respiratory care initiatives, education, and policy development. You will partner with leadership to ensure quality, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient outcomes across the department.

The role requires a Bachelor degree, NBRC credentials (RRT or RPFT), Texas license, and 3+ years of leadership in Respiratory Care, plus 5+ years as a Respiratory Therapist.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in Respiratory Care is required.
• Bachelor degree in a relevant field is required.
• NBRC credential (RRT or RPFT) is required at hire.
• Texas license as Respiratory Care Practitioner is required.
• BLS certification is required for patient care across all ages.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate respiratory care competencies and continuing education with leadership.
• Assist Director with policies/procedures for the department.
• Monitor quality data collection, reporting, and improvement activities.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (QRS, TJC, state/federal).
• Provide training to Respiratory Therapy, Nursing and Physicians as needed.
• Assist in staffing assignments and interdepartmental liaison.

Job Summary and Qualifications

Coordinates in conjunction with the leadership team: respiratory competencies and ongoing education required for unit specific aspects of care. Assists the Director of Respiratory Therapy with maintaining and developing policies and procedure for the department. Monitors and assists with the collection, documentation, and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data; extracts pertinent information from quality assessment and improvement studies. Assists with monitoring the compliance and operation of blood gas analyzers including CAPS accreditation. Organizes and provides needed training for the Respiratory Therapy Department, Nursing and Physicians as necessary. Assists in evaluating the department supply needs to reduce unwarranted supplies and find equipment to improve patient care. Assists the Director of Respiratory Therapy with monitoring compliance with QRS, TJC, and all federal and state regulatory agencies on an ongoing basis. Serves as the clinical resource expert to the staff. Represents the department in interdepartmental meetings as needed. Assists the Director with staffing assignments as needed.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduated from an accredited school for Respiratory Care, recognized by the NBRC.

• Three years leadership experience in Respiratory Care required.

• Minimum of five years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist

• Bachelor Degree required

• RRT or RPFT by NBRC upon hire.

• Licensed by the Texas Department of Health as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

• Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS provider.

• Must be able to care for neonate through adult population.

• Requires full understanding and ability to utilize the Respiratory Care process.
