Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to support our Medical Assistants and oversee MA staff in collaboration with Nursing Leadership and the Practice Manager.

You will be accountable for patient/workflow efficiency, satisfaction, productivity, and achievement of operational goals. The role includes supervision, scheduling, staff development, and direct patient care support on day shifts in a full-time capacity.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with coursework in management/supervision
• Successful MA program completion and MA externship/internship; EMT/Paramedic or Athletic Trainer training
• MA credentialing: CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, NRCMA, CMAC
• Valid CPR certification
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience with supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned areas.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and coaching of MA staff.
• Maintain scheduling, time and attendance for MA staff.
• Evaluate MA staff performance and recommend promotions/discipline.
• Fill in as Medical Assistant when needed.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaison between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Clinical Coordinator to support our Medical Assistants in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you will oversee the medical assisting staff and other specified areas of the office in collaboration with office Nursing Leadership and the Practice Manager. What You’ll Do

General Requirements

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent with applicable college coursework or seminars in management and supervision. Prefer associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Management, Healthcare Administration, etc)

Successful completions of accredited/approve MA program and MA externship, MA Internship; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program; Paramedic program; or Certified Athletic Trainer.

If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Valid CPR certification.

MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years’ clinical experience with prior supervisory experience preferred.
