Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to supervise day-to-day operations and support Medical Assistants in delivering high-quality patient care. You will coordinate scheduling, training, and staff performance, while collaborating with Nursing Leadership and Practice Management to meet operational goals.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ clinical experience with supervisory experience preferred.
• Completion of accredited MA program and externship; EMT/Paramedic or athletic trainer training is a plus.
• MA credentialing through one of the listed certifying agencies is required or preferred.
• CPR certification must be valid.

Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned areas.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and coaching of MA staff.
• Maintain scheduling and attendance for MA staff.
• Evaluate MA staff performance and manage promotions/discipline.
• Fill in as Medical Assistant when needed.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaise between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Clinical Coordinator to support our Medical Assistants in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you will oversee the medical assisting staff and other specified areas of the office in collaboration with office Nursing Leadership and the Practice Manager. This includes accountability for efficient patient/work flow, customer satisfaction, staff satisfaction, productivity and achievement of operational goals as defined by practice leadership.

What You’ll Do:

General Requirements:

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent with applicable college coursework or seminars in management and supervision. Prefer associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Management, Healthcare Administration, etc) Successful completions of accredited/approve MA program and MA externship, MA Internship; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program; Paramedic program; or Certified Athletic Trainer. If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE: Valid CPR certification. MA-Credentialed I: Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) American Medical Technologists (RMA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) American Medical Certification Association (CMAC).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 5 years’ clinical experience with prior supervisory experience preferred.
