Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Clinical Coding Trainer to design and deliver comprehensive training from trainee to Accredited Clinical Coder status. The role supports workforce development, quality coding standards, and collaboration with auditors and clinical staff.

The post offers hybrid working with flexible arrangements and a focus on continuous improvement in coding accuracy and data quality across the Trust's services.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering training, coaching or mentoring.
• Ability to design and deliver high quality training programmes for staff at trainee to ACC status.
• Strong communication, presentation and facilitation skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured clinical coding training programmes for new and existing coding staff.
• Develop and maintain training materials in collaboration with the MIAA Clinical Coding Academy.
• Create, monitor and manage departmental training plans and schedules.
• Support coders in achieving and maintaining national clinical coding standards.
• Deliver coding update sessions, coding workshops and education events.
• Work with auditors to identify training needs from audit findings and develop improvement plans.
• Support rollout of outpatient coding and EPR initiatives through education and engagement.
• Provide specialist advice to managers, clinicians and coding staff.
• Mentor and develop colleagues as part of workforce development.
