Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health seeks a Faith-Based Pastoral Care Specialist to provide high quality spiritual care to patients, families and colleagues at Lahey. The role centers on addressing diverse religious needs and integrating guiding principles into daily care.

Candidates will hold a Masters in Theology or Pastoral Counseling with clinical pastoral education and at least one year of healthcare ministry experience. Excellent English communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Theology, Pastoral Counseling or equivalent along with clinical pastoral education or equivalent
• Graduation level ability in spoken and written English is necessary; ability to communicate in another language desirable
• Must relate well with people of diverse backgrounds and integrate theological/ethical/relational issues in care
• Minimum of one year pastoral experience in healthcare ministry or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Regularly provides pastoral services to Lahey patients, family members and colleagues
• Conducts inservices and participates in patient care conferences and related programs
• Available for counseling and crisis intervention
• Incorporates guiding principles, mission and goals into daily activities
• Complies with policies and behavioral expectations
• Maintains courteous interactions with colleagues and patients
• Demonstrates understanding of job expectations and competency assessment
• Demonstrates commitment to customer service standards
• Participates in quality improvement activities
• Completes mandatory education
• Performs other duties as needed
