This position is 36 hours per week on day/night rotation with rotating weekends and holidays.

Job Profile Summary

This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician orders. It also involves performing nursing support duties such as providing basic care services to patients without an RN or LPN license, working under the direction of physicians, mid-level practitioners, or registered nurses depending on the unit. This position is most applicable to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory jobs, requiring basic knowledge of procedures and tools obtained through work experience and vocational or technical education. The role works under moderate supervision, handling routine problems and occasionally requiring interpretation or deviation from standard procedures.

Job Overview

The Clinical Care Technician works under the supervision of a professional nurse, collaborating to meet patient needs within the scope of the role. This includes assisting in direct patient care, providing environmental support, and facilitating patient safety on designated units and others as needed. The technician must complete and maintain competencies in role-specific skills and support a patient and family-centered care environment.

Job Description
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited Nursing program.
  • One (1) year of related experience as a Nursing Assistant (NA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), Critical Care Tech (CCT), or Patient Care Tech (PCT).
  • Experience in acute care settings.
Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting the professional registered nurse in functional care of patients, ensuring efficient and patient-centered care appropriate to the developmental age. Providing or assisting with activities of daily living, preparing rooms for admission/transfer/discharge, transporting patients, providing comfort measures, promoting mobility, setting up procedures, maintaining equipment, performing tests, and supporting patient safety and comfort.

Physical Requirements
  • Lifting up to 30-35 lbs, prolonged standing, walking, occasional twisting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, sitting, kneeling, and squatting.
  • Manual dexterity for procedures and computer use.
  • Ability to see computer screens and reports.
Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to read, write, and understand medical terminology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with detailed, confidential material.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Knowledge to provide age-appropriate care.
