Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health seeks a Clinical Care Technician (CCT) at the RWJ New Brunswick campus to support the cardiac telemetry nursing team. You will assist with vital signs, bedside care, and daily patient needs while collaborating with RNs to ensure safe, compassionate care.

This role emphasizes teamwork, infection control, and clear communication with patients and families, with night shift hours, a part-time schedule, and a focus on dignity and comfort for every patient in our main hospital

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED required.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Previous nursing assistant experience or CNA certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and bedside care.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes to the RN.
• Document in electronic health records accurately.
• Follow infection control protocols and safety policies.

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. This position offers a 2 shift per week schedule (16 hours per week) from 11pm to 7:30a.m. and includes every other weekend as well as some holidays.
