Job summary

Tufts Medicine in Boston, MA is seeking a Clinical Care Technician to provide professional and nonprofessional nursing support under the supervision of a nurse. You will assist with direct patient care, environmental support, and patient safety on designated units, following physician orders and hospital protocols.

The role includes hands-on patient care, adherence to safety standards, and collaboration with the nursing team to deliver high-quality care.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Preferred: CNA or Medical Assistant (MA).
• Completion of Nursing Fundamentals in an accredited Nursing program.
• One year of related experience as a Nursing Assistant, PCA, CCT or PCT.

Responsibilities

• Assists the professional registered nurse in the functional care of patients, ensuring efficient and patient-centered care.
• Provides or assists patients with activities of daily living in a safe, efficient and respectful manner.
• Greets patients, families, visitors and other staff according to service standards.
• Collects, records, and communicates the patient’s clinical data to the assigned nurse.
• Prepares room for admission/transfer/discharge.
• Transports or accompanies patients as necessary to other areas of the hospital.
• Provides comfort measures and assists with mobility as needed.
• Assists with procedures and sets up for nursing/medical staff.
• Cleans and discards used equipment and supplies following procedures.
• Collects specimens and performs specimen testing.
• Cares for biomedical equipment and ensures proper function.
• Cleans wounds and applies dressings as assessed by nurse.
• Performs 12 lead EKG and connects monitoring equipment.
• Cares for patient belongings and completes belongings list.
• Performs admission/transfer/discharge tasks as requested by the nurse.
• Answers call lights and conducts hourly rounding per guidelines.
