Job summary

Reliant Medical Group, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Clinical Hematology/Oncology department in Worcester, MA. Full-time, 38.75 hours weekly, with a daily schedule from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.

You will prepare rooms, take health histories, perform phlebotomy, injections, immunizations, and assist with in-office procedures. EPIC experience and CMA/CCMA/RMA preferred. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant diploma, technical certification or 1+ years of experience performing the critical skills of a medical assistant after on-the-job training or current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program or EMT certification
• Active MA certification (CMA/CCMA/NCMA/RMA) preferred or obtainable within 180 days
• Current enrollment in an accredited Medical Assistant program or EMT certification

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment and instruments
• Room patients, obtain health history and check vital signs
• Document patient care using electronic medical record software
• Perform phlebotomy, urinalysis and handle patient specimen samples
• Administer medications and perform injections/immunizations
• Assist providers with minor, in-office procedures and perform point-of-care testing
