OU Health is seeking a Clinical Support Assistant for the Medicine Specialty Stepdown unit on PRN night shifts. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, performing routine patient care tasks and assisting with the plan of care.

The role includes monitoring vitals, glucose monitoring, basic wound care, specimen collection, and patient transport. No prior experience is required, and BLS is required upon hire.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.

Responsabilités

• Under general supervision of the RN, monitors patient health status and implements the plan of care.
• Carries out physician and nursing orders within scope.
• Takes and records blood pressures, temperatures, pulse and patient weight.
• Performs blood glucose monitoring.
• Sets up and discontinues telemetry monitors.
• Collects specimens as directed.
• Applies sterile dressings and assist with wound care.
• Performs stomal irrigation and applies colostomy pouches.
• Oral suctioning and basic care.
• Assists with admission, discharge and transfer processes.
• Transports patients between treatment centers as needed.
• Keeps patient rooms clean and stocked with supplies.
• Provides safety when assigned to a patient.
