Job summary

The Colorado Department of Corrections seeks a fiscal oversight professional to manage procurement, budgeting, and reporting for healthcare consumables and vendor services. You will review CORE documents, generate monthly and ad hoc analyses, and support management with spending projections.

Ideal candidates have a finance or public administration background and at least two years of related experience, with strong communication and organizational skills. State government benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, business management, accounting, public administration, criminal justice or closely related field.
• Two years of full-time professional experience in auditing, accounting, budgeting, statistical research or related field.
• Substitutions may apply per policy; master/doctorate may substitute for degree and time.

Responsibilities

• Analyze requisitions to determine procurement methods and apply fiscal rules to avoid violations.
• Review and approve RQS and SRQ documents in CORE system.
• Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual budget reports to management.
• Develop ad hoc CORE reports and analyze data to identify trends and projections.
• Oversee and train staff on credit card program administration and fiscal responsibilities.
• Facilitate access to financial tools and reporting systems for stakeholders.
• Provide vendor and internal stakeholder customer service, including inmate banking transactions.
