Job summary

Vanderbilt Health in Nashville is seeking a patient care role to perform duties necessary for patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will provide the psychological, emotional and physical support required by each patient and help maintain a therapeutic environment of the clinical program.

Responsibilities include vital signs, specimen collection, assisting with daily living activities, and collaborating with nurses and other healthcare professionals to support treatment

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved discipline specific program.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical care consistent with the patient's treatment plan, including vital signs, specimen collection and point of care testing as directed.
• Collects data to contribute to the assessment of individual strengths and limitations.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living as directed by the RN.
• Provides input to the patient's nurse and other healthcare professionals regarding progress towards treatment goals.
• Promotes and maintains a safe environment conducive to healing and health promotion.
• Assures orientation of newly admitted patient and establishes a therapeutic relationship with the patients.
• Provides immediate feedback to the charge nurse about safety concerns on the unit.
• Participates in gathering patients for groups and occasionally co-leading groups.
