Job summary

Ingalls Memorial Hospital, part of the University of Chicago Medicine system, seeks a Clinical Associate (CNA) for the Med Surg unit. This 100% onsite role is based in the greater Chicagoland area and involves patient preparation and meal assistance alongside direct patient care.

Under the Manager and Clinical Supervisor, you will perform assigned supportive tasks, participate in hourly rounds, assist with admissions, maintain infection control, and provide compassionate care aligned with unit

Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required.
• Active BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• Experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Completion of Medical Terminology course.

Here, you will prepare patients and assist with meals while providing direct patient care necessary to meet the personal, physical, and comfort needs of the patient. This position is a 100% onsite opportunity . You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area.

With the leadership of the Manager and the Clinical Supervisor, performs assigned supportive work in connection with the delivery of patient care, including functional tasks and skills. Utilizes interactive processes which will exceed the expectation of patients, physicians, families, or significant others, provides high-quality, cost-effective care and treatment. Demonstrates necessary skills and knowledge to provide care for patients according to unit specific competencies as appropriate to the age of the patients served, as delineated in the Center's Scope of Care.

• Assists with admissions by setting up patient rooms, orienting patients to rooms, obtaining height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, blood pressure (in both arms when applicable), changing clothing, labeling, and storing personal care items
• Observes and follows infection control policies and procedures in accordance with infection control policy

Required Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completed Medical Terminology Course
• Past or current experience in an acute care hospital setting
